Hey Business Owners - How Safe Is Your Income Or What Happens If You Get Injured And Can't Work

When your income is dependent on your availability, your income is never fully safe. Your wealth is threatened. Your happiness is threatened.

Just like there is no such thing as job security for an employee, there is no such thing as income security for an owner/operator.

When your income is dependent on your availability, your income is never fully safe. Your wealth is threatened. Your happiness is threatened.

Just like there is no such thing as job security for an employee, there is no such thing as income security for an owner/operator.

This thought was driven home to me recently while I listened to an acquaintances story. He gave me a perfect example of the threat business owners face when they ARE the business. He granted me permission
to share his story with you.

Gary owned a remodeling company.

He met with leads, priced and sold the work, did the carpentry, oversaw the subs, sent out the invoices, and paid the bills. He was a typical owner/operator.

He loved the work. His two employees were easy to manage. He was his own boss. He set his own hours. His two employees were easy to manage. He didnt have to worry about someone disappointing his client or costing him money because he controlled everything.

Gary had a thriving business going. His superior craftsmanship and hands-on customer service earned him a great reputation and produced a flood of referrals.

Gary was purposely staying small. He didnt want the headaches of finding and managing workers and trusting their ability to meet his expectations. He was at his maximum work load and was quite happy about it.

He and his wife enjoyed a very comfortable lifestyle that had no end in sight.

Ah, but life never is that easy is it?

Gary fell off of a roof, spent several weeks in a hospital and couldnt work for a year.

His business couldnt function without his hands-on involvement. He lost his only source of income - and he lost everything else. Gary was forced to declare bankruptcy.

That is the ultimate threat to the owner/operator. Complete financial destruction.

Unless your company can run itself, your financial security is ALWAYS at risk. ALWAYS.

Think of this newsletter as your personal hurricane warning system. The hurricane may miss you or it may hit you. At this point, neither one of us knows which course its going to run.

This weeks email is not meant to be an attempt to frighten you. Its an attempt to open your eyes to a threat that you may never have sufficiently
considered. The need to build a business that is self-managing.

Do you have a choice? Yes.

Is it a painful choice? It can be.

Is it an easy journey? Not for most.

What choice should you make? Thats up to you.

Allow me a moment to show you what a self-managing business looks like.

A self-managing business is one in which your daily involvement is not needed; one where your marketing system creates good leads; one where your sales staff meets with prospects, qualifies their fit to your business, and closes deals at attractive prices; and one where your operations team gets the work installed per budget and schedule.

Its a business that you can monitor from out-of-state (or in a hospital bed) via computer, fax machine, and telephone. Its a business that continues to spin off cash whether you are there or not. Now, thats a
self-managed business.

There is a famous Warren Buffett quote in which he describes the type of business investors should look for, "You should invest in a business that even a fool can run, because someday a fool will." Warren was describing a business that is so strong, it doesnt need superior leadership to keep the profits flowing. Thats the type of business that gives its owners income protection.

Now, there has been much ink spilled over how to create such a business, the most common advice being "install systems". Well, the easiest way to do that is to perfect them yourself then teach someone else how to do perform them.

Heres the basic sequence for building your business:

1st step: Perfect your lead generation process.

2nd step: Perfect your selling approach.

3rd step: Perfect your method for getting the work done.

4th step: Bring in foremen and teach them how to produce the work.

5th step: Bring in a salesman, teach him how to sell, and pay him for profitable sales.

6th step: Bring in an operations manager / estimator to run the work.

7th step: Put in place tracking systems to key an eye on EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.

If all the other wonderful benefits of owning a self-managing business fail to inspire you to build one, income protection should be enough incentive for you to put forth the required effort.

Hgh supplementation what really works an hgh review

HGH Supplementation - What Really Works? An HGH Review

This article is a HGH review. HGH supplementation is a confusing arena of advertisers and charlitans. Weed through the mess here and learn some of the differences between the various products.

HGH review, HGH supplementation, human growth hormone, anti aging

If you are at all interested in anti-aging news or nutritional supplements, youve probably heard about hGH or Human Growth Hormone. Although it is important to discuss what HGH is and how it works, the main focus of this article is to review the various types of HGH supplementation. Lets briefly cover the basics.

What Is Growth Hormone?

GH is a hormone released by the pituitary gland. It generally releases the hormone in bursts. GH levels are high during puberty and then fall off. They remain stable during mid-adulthood (the 30s) but then decline progressively through old age. By the time many people reach 60, GH levels are very small. One third of the 60+ adults produce NO GH at all!

What Does It Do?

Why should we care about our GH levels? GH is important in repairing damaged tissue, promoting cell regeneration, enhancing muscle growth, burning fat, and supports healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Low GH levels could very well be the reason some of us age faster than others. Of

Hermit crab space requirements

Hermit Crab Space Requirements

This article offers advice on choosing a number of hermit crabs permitted for the size of the habitat you plan to purchase. Keeping the hermit crabs comfort and health in mind is key to deciding how many hermit crabs you can fit in your hermit crab habitat.

hermit crabs, land hermit crabs, pet, animals, pets

As a potential hermit crab owner, you might be wondering if there is a limit to the number of hermit crabs you can have in a certain amount of space. This is something I first wondered when I started keeping hermit crabs as pets. There is no really easy way to answer that question with exact numbers and measurements. The best number of hermit crabs to have for a certain amount of space all depends on the type of situation you have, space-wise. When deciding how many hermit crabs you can house, you have to consider tank size, personal space, and furnishings.

The first thing you need to consider when you are trying to determine how many hermit crabs you can house is tank size. This is a factor. If you have the minimum 10-gallon aquarium, you are most certainly not going to be able to house as many hermit crabs as a person with a 150-gallon aquarium. The small hermit crab kit cages are most certainly not adequate for one hermit crab to live in comfortably, let alone more than one. A 10-gallon aquarium is the smallest recommended to house a single crab and be able to expand your crab habitat somewhat.

Another thing you must take into consideration when deciding how many hermit crabs you want to buy is the fact that, while hermit crabs are social creatures, they must be able to roam around in their own personal space. Many pet stores have an appropriately sized aquarium for a few hermit crabs, but they have the audacity to jam it full where the hermit crabs are forced to live on top of each other. This is an unacceptable situation for anyone to have, but especially pet stores that are supposed to be humanely housing their stock of animals. You have to take into account if each of your hermit crabs will have enough room to go off on their own for a little while. Each crabbie should be able to have some alone time now and then.

Another thing to consider is that, if you are a keeper of hermit crabs for any length of time, you will inevitably run into a crab that must go through the molting process. You need to make sure that in your hermit crab habitat, there is plenty of room for a safe molting haven. If the hermit crabs do not have the space to molt, they can not molt safely, away from other hermit crabs. Also take into account that if you have quite a few hermit crabs, more than one crab may molt at the same time. You must allow for this. Another thing to think about is whether or not you want a variety of different size crabs.

One last thing to consider when making sure to purchase a home big enough for the amount of hermit crabs you want to buy is to consider the furnishings that must go into the tank with the hermit crabs. Remember, you will have food and water bowls, climbing toys, shelters and other decorations in your tank. In order for your hermit crabs to live comfortably around these things, you must take this into consideration as well. You also want to make sure the hermit crabs have space to take a run as well as the space to maneuver between objects without getting stuck. One more aspect of spacing the furniture is that you need to keep things in the central part of your hermit crab habitat. If you set items near the edge of the habitat, hermit crabs are more prone to escape.

Though there is no set number of hermit crabs per gallon like goldfish have, the biggest thing to remember is to use your best judgment and common sense. Dont allow the hermit crabs to be so crowded that they cannot maneuver around each other or their furnishings. Make sure everyone has a spot to call their own. Just keep the comfort of your hermit crabs in mind when deciding on the number you can care for.

Heritage fishing fishing in the past for the future

Heritage Fishing: Fishing in the Past for the Future

Heritage fisheries are carefully maintained aquatic preserves in various parts of the world where a tradition or habitat surrounding fishing has been protected from todays modern hazards. A heritage fishery may be a lake, river or part of the ocean; its locale having less to do with its heritage designation than preservation of a certain style or era. Heritage fishing's purpose is twofold: to experience fishing as it was in the past and to preserve fishing for the future.

Glendalough State Park is the newest member of the Minnesota State Parks family. Its land was given to the state by a private donor in the 1990s and the lakes on the park acreage were fished privately for nearly a hundred years. No one other than members of the donors family or their guests was allowed to utilize the lakes at Glendalough State Park. As a result, fish sizes and populations in the Glendalough lakes are more representative of historic times than of modern times.

Annie Battle Lake, the largest of the Glendalough Lakes, allows the angler to experience fishing as it was in Minnesota during the 1800s. Motors of any kind are not allowed on the lake. Canoes and rowboats are available for rental at the park office and shore fishing is a pleasure from any location here. Gas powered vehicles are prohibited, as are any type of electronic fish-finding device.

Large bass, panfish, walleye and northern pike abound under the crystal clear waters of Annie Battle Lake because the waters are unpolluted by gas or oil. Catch-and-release regulations and fishing limits are strictly enforced here, maintaining the size and count of the population for generations to come. A small brook connecting Annie Battle Lake to another of the park lakes is waist deep with a sandy bottom, providing excellent wading areas for bass fishing.

The Lave Net Fishery at Blackrock on the Severn Estuary in Wales is the last of its kind in Wales and has also been designated as a heritage fishery. Treacherous tidal waters averaging speeds of 7-8 knots have witnessed generations of fishermen pass along this fishing technique. Less than a dozen lave net fishing licenses are issued by the Welsh government each year, with all belonging to a local association dedicated to preserving this unique method of salmon fishing. The only noticeable difference between modern and historic lave netters are that they now sport waders as opposed to animal skins.

The lave net itself, a Y-shaped structure constructed of wood and a hand-made net, remains unchanged. Anglers wade into the river and either cower, waiting for the salmon to approach him, or watch for the telltale salmon splashes announcing their location. The fisherman can then net the fish before they head to deeper water. This kind of fishing is restricted by law and by the tides. Anglers have about 1.5 hours before low tide to practice their craft when conditions are calm. Their knowledge of the tides and of the area, received from the generation before, serves as their guide.

Kjaerra Laxefiske on the Kjaerrafossen River near Helgeland, Norway dates back to 1388. Ownership of the two heritage fisheries here is marked by the markebol, a medieval unit of measurement. Salmon are caught via the use of ancient fishing tools, while the buildings surrounding the fisheries were restored to medieval timber and stone during the 1950s. Visitors are welcomed to the weekly opening of salmon pots every Thursday where the catch of the week is revealed.

Wherever they are located, heritage fisheries are an important part of the environment and the community. In addition to offering the simple thrill of fishing itself, they provide an opportunity to learn from the past, as well as preserving the present heritage of fishing for future anglers.
